
About Abbie
Abbie is a contemporary dance artist originally from Norfolk. After graduating from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, Abbie joined Stopgap through Northern School of Contemporary Dance’s Professional Placement Scheme in 2019. Continuing to work with Stopgap, Abbie has performed in productions for stage, outdoor, gallery and film. Including performing on the BBC for the Festival of Remembrance and being featured in a dance film that was awarded Best Dance Film at the Together Disability Arts Film Festival.
Abbie has also worked with Ascension Dance, Mercurial Dance, Turned On It’s Head and Scherzo Ensemble. Abbie blends her dance training with other skills, including Aerial Disciplines and Sign Spinning. She was part of the launch of Sign Spinning UK in March 2025.
During her vocational training, she performed works by choreographers such as Stephanie Schober, Struan Leslie, Sara Wookey, Sonia Rafferty and performed in the restaging of José Limón’s ‘A Choreographic Offering’ by Jacqueline Bulnes. Abbie had the opportunity to perform with Candoco's youth company and Magpie Dance for Co-Motion dance platform, which was choreographed by Luke Brown.

Discover a delightful world. Meet Bud and Buddy Delight, who wake from sleepy hibernation to discover a delightful, enticing world that has blossomed around them. Twirling, bouncing and leaping they invite children to join them in their dance to create an enchanted outdoor playground full of wonder, joy and sheer delight. A sensory dance performance for 0-4s and their grown-ups.

Festival of Remembrance 2023

Stopgap - Dance Company
Stopgap Dance Company presented a powerful dance performance of resilience and reinvention for BBC and Royal British Legion at the Festival of Remembrance 2023 at Royal Albert Hall. The performance saw the company reunite with the DJ duo Sigma, this time featuring Morgan to play ‘Adrenaline Rush’, which was accompanied by a full orchestra.
